Timanfaya Moscatel Dulce Selección 1999 is a long-aged sweet wine, shaped by the solera system, time, and the meticulous work of several generations.
Iodine-amber in colour with intense chestnut hues, it reveals a complex and deep nose, where raisins and candied fruits coexist with citrus notes of tangerine, bread dough, wild flowers, aromatic herbs, liqueur-soaked sponge cake, nuts, ash, and tobacco. A broad and precise aromatic range, built slowly in the barrel.
On the palate, it is unctuous, full, and vibrant. The fruit in syrup, the honeyed touch, cocoa, menthol, and spearmint are balanced by a surprising freshness and a marked saline sensation. Its finish is long, persistent, and full of nuances.
Its aging in a volcanic cave for over 25 years, in 500-litre American oak barrels, speaks of patience, craftsmanship, and continuity: a living system where each generation leaves a part of itself and receives something from the time before.
This limited-edition wine is part of the Timanfaya Collection, a tribute to the volcano's eruptive history. Born from pre-phylloxera and century-old vines, it expresses the complexity of a dry-farmed, extreme, and fascinating terroir.
